For some time now, the development of e-bikes has concentrated enormously on the factors of power and distance. However, a powerful motor and a substantial radius automatically lead to those heavy bikes. Focus bikes takes a different path and returns to the origins of mountain biking with the new Focus Raven (launched this winter). It is based on values that bikers understand and love: uncompromising handling, balanced mass distribution an agile riding comfort with 100 mm spring deflection. And, of course, an e-bike that has already won the Eurobike Award for its innovative impact in the e-bike segment during its development phase attracts professionals. For the launch of the Focus Raven, Markus Schulte-Lünzum (GER) and Florian Vogel (SUI) wanted to reach their limits and beyond. Their intention: to master the Transalp in record time of 36 hours via the legendary Heckmair route (400 kilometers in distance and 16,000 kilometers in altitude).
After incredible 21 hours and 50 minutes of pure driving time and five hours and 30 minutes break, they mastered the Focus Transalp Project with even eight hours and 40 minutes less than planned. Under normal circumstances, it requires five to seven daily levels. eTecMag congratulates to this incredible performance! And, by the way, another proof of the incredible innovations the e-bike market is producing.
