This year so many high-powered electric scooters entered the scene; but what about city electric scooters that “normal” people use? You know, those around 32 Km/h speed and 800 US dollars?
Who will take the throne this year? Xiaomi electric scooter 4 pro, new Segway scooters, Ninebot G30 II, or Niu KQI3 electric scooter?
There were thousands of high-power electric scooters sold around the world, but there were million Xiaomi and Ninebot scooters sold in the same time. This is why this category ( electric scooters under 500 W continuous power ) attracts e-scooter makers and even car manufacturers to try and push their products to the e-mobility PEV scene.
Niu has a background in electric moped manufacturing and Niu KQI3 Pro is their newest city electric scooter.

Top 4 things we like about KQI3 pro
1. RIDE QUALITY / KQI3 PRO
Niu KQI3 PRO electric scooter is built with street riding in mind, and this is where it shines; the geometry is great, and the deck is wide and long enough for a comfortable ride. There is rear foot support for more control and safer riding. Xiaomi and Ninebot scooters still do not have this feature and only the most expensive Segway scooters that are not in this class ( Segway F scooters ) use this kind of deck design. KQI3 PRO feels safe on the streets, can tackle small hills, small rocky roads and grass.
2. HANDLEBAR WIDTH / KQI3 PRO
The overall size of the scooter is suited for various individuals. The scooter is not too small, and the handlebar width is wide enough for smooth riding. The weight is on the limit of easy handling. Most people will be able to lift 44.75 lbs / 21 Kg. Increased weight is due to tubes that the scooter is constructed from; that’s why this scooter is rigid and feels safe with 120 Kg / 265 lbs riders.
3. BATTERY BMS AND CONNECTORS DONE RIGHT / KQI3 PRO
KQI3 e-scooter lineup has BMS on battery done right with all important safety features, and scooter charging port has a small plastic cap that is fixed to scooter after closing with small magnet.
4. FOLDING MECHANISM LOCK / KQI3 PRO
Super simple folding mechanism with a lock that secures the scooter when lifting! It maybe sounds stupid to insist that this feature is something special, but when you use a scooter for a while, you will find out how handy this really is.
Fun fact about Niu
Niu brand is famous for its electric motorcycles and electric mopeds in Europe. Currently, they are working on L1eB electric bicycles and expanding their electric scooter rage. An interesting fact about Niu is that the company is listed on stock exchanges. To achieve their Niu stock growth, the company needs to bring trust to shareholders and any negative feedback about products can push the stock down. Because of that, they keep safety a priority!
Not calling out anybody, but we think you would all agree that it would be the best for some other electric scooter brands to list their parent companies on stock exchanges because the stock market is brutal and they would need to improve certain production practices to keep the level of quality constant!
