Mubea group entering electric bike market with CFRP e-bike

Muhr and Bender KG – better known as the Mubea Group is entering the e-bike market with lightweight carbon fiber reinforced polymer electric bike.

Owned for more than 100 years, the owner-managed family business from southern Sauerland claims to produce innovative lightweight components for chassis, body and drive at 40 locations worldwide for automative industry.

According to the project manager Martino Lupo, not only an ultra-light e-bike frame made of CFRP (carbon-fiber-plastic) will be presented for the first time, but also an “automotive-grade” geared motor unit as well as numerous small and large innovations at the Eurobike. They will show two ready-to-use E-Concept bikes (an E-Urban and an E-MTB model)

Unlike many other manufacturers, Mubea relies on design and production in Europe. The close coordination of the product and the manufacturing process means that the CFRP material can be developed economically

The high-quality lightweight carbon frame from Mubea Carbo Tech was developed and manufactured in Salzburg. And the geared motor manufactured at the company headquarters in Sauerland with numerous features that, according to the company, “stand far from competitive products”.

These include top performance of up to 4 kW, traction-uninterrupted shifting under load, low maintenance and lubrication in the oil, high level of comfort and optimum metering – compact and easy to integrate into a bike frame.

Self-developed geared motor produced at the Sauerland headquarters uses the gearshift gear by Effigear.

Engineered to endure the abuse of Freeride, Downhill and Enduro, the EFFIGEAR’s Gearbox can also be used for other disciplines like E-bikes!

We are not sure if the Mobea uses custom gearbox solution in cooperation with Effiegear or only shifter from Effiegear as we could not spot this on pictures, but here on the images of Effiegear from their website and Instagram:
